Expectations were high in 2025 that government formation would be different than in the past. Yet a detailed analysis of the coalition negotiations in 2025 shows that they were conducted mostly like before: they were not much faster, the coalition contract was not much shorter, and the rules on coalition cooperation were even more detailed.
