Open Call: Redesign the Ballot Box

What should a ballot box look like? How can it show the meaning of elections in democracy? The call for an international competition on the design of the ballot box is now open. You can find all details here: https://redesign-democracy.hfbk.net/en Democracy thrives on participation – the moment when citizens cast their vote in an election is one of the most central expressions of democratic participation. But how does the act of voting affect us? And how appropriate is the current design of ballot boxes for this performative act that embodies our democracy? The HFBK Hamburg invites all designers, artists, students, researchers, and interested parties to take part in the Redesign Democracy – Reimagine Voting competition. The aim of the competition is to develop appropriate and visionary concepts that enhance the democratic act of voting.
